Condolence: I didn't know Daniel but I know that we both have a love and appreciation for the wildreness. People that think like us a few and far between. I find myself thinking about Daniel and his story when I am in the wild. Never take anything for granted. Love your friends family and the wild places that bring us so much peace. Cheers. Condolence From: Sean Ballaro
Condolence: I read the news today. I don't know if it's appropriate for me to send you an email or not but I just felt like I should. I read today about the discoveries that were made and I wanted to send a note that I hope this helps put some closure to the long and agonizing pain that you have endured. I read with great interest the news of your son and I followed your regular blogs. Always hoping and praying that Daniel would be found. So many times I wished I could help out in a search or in some other way. The numbers of people that assisted you over the years is a testament to the one common goal of finding your son. I first learned about Daniel's disappearance in the spring of 2012 at a canoeing event in Caledonia. Well, I don't know what else to say except that I'm glad he was found and I hope you are able to fit the final puzzle pieces together to help make sense of everything. My prayers remain with you. Condolence From: Sandy and Terry Visentin
Condolence: Hi Moe and Donny: Terry and I heard the news that Daniel was found when we were in Anchorage, on our way home. Just like I could never really imagine what you have felt over the last few years, I can't begin to imagine the barrage of emotions you must have gone through and are continuing to go through. I know I felt both extreme sadness and relief at the same time - something I couldn't have believed was possible before I experienced it. I figure if I felt this just thinking of that cute boy with devil in his eyes; I can only guess that your feelings are just as complex and conflicted. I so wish we could be with you now and on Sunday. Please know that you remain and will continue to be in our hearts any prayers. May the love and support of God and all those around you sustain you as you move forward knowing Dan is at peace. (I figure he and Brent are causing a ruckus in Heaven - it's like they have been doing it for years, we just now found out about it. Love, Sandy and Terry

Condolence From: Deb and Ted Dziube
Condolence: Maureen: I can't imagine how you feel. Knowing you found him is a miracle and now you’re healing to grieve his loss has different emotions. Just remember Daniel died doing what he loved in his life. When accidents happen we tend to feel guilty wishing how we could have changed the course of events, but in reality I believe our souls are taken when God needs help from our loved ones to help others. I know from a sibling’s perspective after losing Barry that nothing we did could have changed him leaving us so quickly. One thing I have learned and discovered in my own journey is that time just moves. I know in my heart he is an angel to us giving hope when we need it and joy when we feel sad. Daniel will forever be your guardian angel to you and your family. I feel honored to have had the privilege to have met him. Deb

Condolence From: Ellin Bessner
Condolence: Dear Maureen: Just a short note to say how pleased I was to learn of your amazing news about Daniel being finally located - your family must be commended for never giving up hope, and I saw the news reports about the memorial services as well as the coverage of where his remains were found. It seems trite to send this little token now, to thank you for participating in our Advanced interviewing class, but a promise is a promise - so here it is. Once again, our deepest condolences and prayers are with you and the family at this emotional time. All the best, Fondly, Ellin Bessner Centennial College, Journalism July 9, 2015
