Passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital at the age of 89.
Beloved wife of the late Robert Yeats (1997). Loving mother of Linda Werstine (Phil), Fraser Yeats (Rose) and the late Gillian Yeats (2015). Dear Nanna to Andrea Podrebarac (Scott) and Adam Werstine (Angela) and Great-Nanna to Julia, Molly, Mackayla and Fraser. Survived by her sister Daveen McRitchie (Norman) of Glasgow, Scotland and sister-in-law Moira McMillan of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her brothers Rev. Robert and James McMillan.
Isobel was actively involved in church outreach programs in Scotland and Montreal and served as an Elder at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Kitchener where she started the Visitors In the Parish Program (V.I.P.). For 25 years she volunteered at the Grand River Hospital. She was a gifted soloist and pianist and shared her gift entertaining and volunteering. Her zest for life was reflected in everything she did including her real estate career in Montreal and her gourmet cooking.
Isobel's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, May 30, 2016 from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. The memorial service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark Lewis officiating followed by a reception. Cremation has taken place.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of K-W or the House of Friendship would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
