Obituary for John 'Jack' Donald Adams

Adams, John (Jack) D.
June 3, 1924 - Dec. 8, 2015

Jack Adams, 91, passed away peacefully in Kitchener after a lengthy illness. Loving husband of Helen, his devoted wife of 66 years; wonderful father to his daughters Judith (Robert Black) and Catherine (Sal Di Bella); caring grandfather to Julia and John Di Bella, and Madeline and Rachel Black.

Jack grew up in Brampton and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1947 from the University of Toronto, where he met Helen. He joined the University of Waterloo in 1961 as its first Director of Information Services and saw it through decades of growth until his retirement in 1985. He was involved in many community activities, including the KW Skating Club and building The Rink in the Park in Waterloo. He was known for his wonderful sense of humour, great story telling, love of bridge and baseball, and his kind heart. We will miss him dearly.

A reception will be held on Sunday December 13th from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Private cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made through the funeral home to the Jack Adams Memorial Scholarship, University of Waterloo, supporting studies in Global Business and Digital Arts.
