Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Betty for over 67 years. Loving father of Marybeth Maltby and Berkley Dietrich. Proud Grandpa of Jamie (Henry Cole), Lynn, Jessica, Taylor and great-grandfather of Mercedes, Jordan, Madelyn and Ryker. Son of the late Edward and Edith Dietrich. Dear brother of Allister (Rita), Marilyn and the late Stanley (Marie) and Theresa. Brother-in-law of Doreen (Lorne Hogan), Sandra Roehrig, Diane Metzloff and the late Jack Metzloff. Thanks to the 6th and 7th floor staff at St. Mary's Hospital for the loving, caring and professional way they cared for Gerry.
Gerry's family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers 8 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John's RC Church (85 Strange St.) on Saturday, July 1st, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Reception to follow in the church hall.
