Stephen Michael Irving
September 13, 1956 - February 3, 2016

On February 3rd, we said goodbye to an amazing husband, father, brother and uncle. As in life, he always preferred to have the last word:

At age 59, I have taken leave of this life and am off to the next. I will be survived by my "honey" Joyce, the love of my life for 34 years, and our beautiful daughters Emily (Steve, Madelyn, Lauryn) and Hilary. Leave your marks on the world! Remembered by the Catterall family (John, Mary, Jessica (Andy), Jeffery, Rachel) and my sister Lisa (Michael, Kenny, Kaitlyn) Sweeney.

During my teaching career at A. R. Kaufman P.S., I worked with some amazing students and staff - I wish you the best.

Many thanks to the team at the Grand River Cancer Centre, where the doctors, nurses and support staff are indeed angels.

My favourite place will always be our cottage in Kearney, where I lived, loved and laughed with family and friends. My ashes will be spread there, joining those of my parents (Robert, Jane), sister Jennifer and furry friend Wendell.

To the countless family and friends who provided love and support while I was ill, thank you. With your thoughts and prayers, I truly was the luckiest man in the world.
Cremation has taken place.
On Saturday, February 20th at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, in Kitchener, a visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:15pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:30pm and reception immediately after. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Grand River Cancer Centre or Lisaard Hospice House would be greatly appreciated (cards available at the funeral home 519-749-8467).
