Passed away following a brief illness at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Rodney (2012). Loving mother of Timothy and his wife Kim and Sherry and her husband Cliff Hill. Cherished grandma of Philippa and Fiona. Dear sister of Corinne Huras, Lawrence "Bud" Eissfeldt (Myrna), and Rev. Richard Eissfeldt (Ann). Survived by brother-in-law D'Arcy Swartz. Predeceased by her parents Rev. Arthur Eissfeldt and wife Marie. Ruth was a devoted member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church - Kitchener. She was retired from Scotiabank and was a longtime member of Foxwood Golf Club.
Ruth's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-6 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will also be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 322 East Ave., Kitchener, from 10-10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Nolan Astley officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Holy Cross Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
