Baumann, Katie:
Passed away peacefully at her home, with her family at her side, on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in her 89th year.
Beloved wife of 58 years to John Baumann Sr. (predeceased 2009). Loving mother of John Jr. (predeceased 1993),Wally of Orillia and Karl of Kincardine. Cherished grandmother of Roger and his wife Elizabeth, Andrea, Kelly and her husband Tony, Scott, Darren, Samara, Rachel and Curtis and his wife Taylor. Katie will be missed by the newest addition to the family, her great-grandson John Baumann who recently celebrated his 2nd birthday. She will be fondly remembered by her daughter-in-law Esther and her husband Wolfgang Meier.
Predeceased by her parents, Georg and Magdalena and her brother Josef Gruber.
Katie's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Sunday from 6-9 p.m. and Monday from 9-9:45 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 in the chapel of the funeral home at 10 am, with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment Parkview Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation - Dialysis Unit (cheques payable to Grand River Hospital Foundation) would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
