Isard, Hilda Dorothy (nee Leigh):
Passed away on Monday, January 8th at People Care A.R. Goudie Nursing Home in Kitchener, Ontario at the age of 92. Hilda passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease, with her family by her side. The daughter of the late William and Rose (nee Davies) Leigh of Scotia, Ontario. Hilda was predeceased by her husband, Donald Isard of Sudbury who passed away in 2000. Hilda will be deeply missed by her children Brian (Grace) of Toronto, Jan Forgett (Rick) of Waterloo, Jill Isard (Ken Gazdic) of Sudbury, and grandchildren Philip Isard of Ireland and Allen Isard of Toronto who brought her great joy. Predeceased by siblings Gertrude Anderson (late Joseph) of Peterborough, Wilfred Leigh (late Orma) of Scotia, Horace Leigh (Joyce) of Scotia and Constance Wood (late Donald) of Kingston. Hilda was born in Scotia, Ontario and married Donald Isard in Sudbury in 1952. Hilda was a resident of Sudbury until moving to Kitchener, Ontario in 2007. Hilda was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who always put everyone ahead of herself. She was the happiest when surrounded by family at her summer cottage on Clear Lake in Perry Township. Hilda loved her morning kayak rides, swimming, and raking leaves. In the winter she loved to cross-country ski.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful tender loving care given to Hilda from all of the staff at People Care A.R. Goudie Nursing Home.
Arrangements entrusted to Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. At Hilda's request, a private funeral service will be held in Sudbury. Cremation has taken place. In Hilda's memory, a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington would be greatly appreciated.
