Obituary for Otto Franz Jonas
Otto Franz Jonas (1926-2016)
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Parkwood Mennonite Home on Wednesday October 12, 2016 in his 90th year. Otto came to Canada in 1950’s where he met his predeceased wife, Marie Jonas. Beloved spouse of Margaret Zidovec and step-children, Brian Zidovec and Joyce Garofalo. Grandfather to four grandsons, Alex, William, Evan and Joseph.
The family would like to thank friends, neighbours, Parkwood Mennonite Home, and all the caregivers and medical personnel in Kitchener-Waterloo and Stratford, Ontario who supported Otto with the wonderful care and attention over the past few years.
Otto loved animals (including his dogs, Duke and Prince) and nature.
At the accordance of Otto’s wishes, he will be buried at Riverside Cemetery in New Hamburg, ON. His funeral service is at Riverside on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Society of KW or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and would be appreciated by the family.
