Passed away peacefully following a battle with cancer at Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital on Monday October 24, 2016 in his 78th year. Beloved husband of the late Mary (2001). Loving father of Ann Marie (Vic) Slade and Paul Zilney (Carrie Kay). Fondly remembered by Karen Rooney. Proud Grandpa of Chelsea and Megan. Predeceased by his parents Eddy and Tessie Zilney. Dear brother of Caroline (Joe) Yantha, Nicholas (Mary) Zilney and the late Evelyn, Stacia, Angela and Robert. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and their families. At Ed's request there will be no visitation or service. Private cremation. Arrangements entrusted to Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
