The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Betty Van Luven can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Betty was a friend and encourager to me both at Milton Toastmasters and Grand River Toastmasters. And if Betty didn't share her speech on PBC with us so she could perfect the message she wanted to give as keynote speaker for a PBC fundraiser, most members would not have known she had a life-threatening disease because she never made it an issue, never complained, never solicited pity. Rather, she put her energies into giving to others and I was one of the many recipients of her giving spirit. I will always remember Betty with a big smile, a hearty laugh and just as hearty a hug.

Condolence: Although Betty was only 7 years older than me, I always felt she deserved the title of "Aunt" ... Aunt Betty was my mom's half-sister, 30 years apart. But that was our crazy family. Betty's mom was "Aunt Madeline", who was married to my Grandpa West. Betty came back into my life when I needed her the most. But hey, that's what Earth Angels do! Love and miss you Aunt Betty xo
