The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Donald Tallman can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Bob & Sheila Tallman
Condolence: Sending our condolences to Betty, Debbie, Chris, Craig, and their families. Don always came across as a kind, gentle man who would do anything for you without hesitation and this is how he will be remembered. Don and I both worked at B.F.Goodrich and our paths would occasionally cross and we would stop what we were doing and have a good old chat about family and anything but work. We will all miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

Condolence: Our condolences to Mrs. Tallman, Deb, Chris, Craig and their families. Mr. Tallman (aka Akela ) was a great person. He was a great dad to my best friends Chris and Craig. He was like a 2nd father to me. He was a very generous person who took me along as well as his sons to our soccer games all over Kitchener and Waterloo. He also, always drove us to the firearms course, we took as kids, – where we learned safe hunting practices, how to shoot safely and accurately. He helped in our marksmanship as well outside of formal classes. He was also my cub leader Akela. I learned lots of outdoor skills from him that I use to this day. When I looked up Boy Scouts on the internet, the definition of Akela was wisdom, authority and leadership. Those definitions truly fits his character. He sure had a great influence on my upbringing. He will be missed and never forgotten.

Condolence From: William Cavanagh (Bill)
Condolence: I am writing this message of condolence in fear. Fear that I won't get it right.
In writing this sort of message my only hope would be that somehow what I have to say can make a difference for the family and friends of Don Tallman specifically his lovely wife Betty and his wonderful children Debbie, Chris and Craig and of course his 3 grandchildren.
Don Tallman was someone any young man would aspire to be. He set the example by always being approachable and friendly toward one and all and what a magnificent warm smile...he was "the salt of the earth"...a truly humble and dignified man. And if you are one of those people who believe Don has moved on to a better place reserved for those who have been good...have no fear because he's there that's for sure!
My thoughts are with you all this very moment despite the great distance, and will be through this difficult time. In fact my thoughts are with you each and every day.
Friends are forever!
Love always William Cavanagh

Condolence: My personal condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the Tallman family. I was a classmate of Donald's at K.C.I. in 1943-4 when he lived at 289 Connaught St. Kitchener and remember him very well. Though I have not seen Donald during the intervening 75 years, I still have fond memories of him and most of our 32 classmates. My personal sympathies to his wife and children.
