Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the age of 97.
Beloved wife of the late Walter Gawel (1991). Loving mother of the late Richard (Agnes) of Cambridge, Zenon (Linda) of Kitchener, Andy (Isabel Nadeau) of Clifford, George (Sharon) of Clifford, the late John (Jane) of Kitchener, Barbara of Palmerston, and Henry (Gayle) of Palmerston. Much loved grandmother of Mark (Liz), Christine (Adrian), Richard, Jason (Nancy), Kathy (Ed), Michael (Justine), Tommy (Heather), Steven (Kathy), Sheena, Josh, Ian (Crystal), Natalie (Mike), Andrea (Brandon), Joseph (Cindy), Robert (Josie), Russell (Jamie), and Maggie (Mike) and proud great-grandmother of Brittany, Brandon, Kyle, Ryan, Jaxon, Brody, Hannah, Caleb, Caitlin, Franklin, Joseph, Elisa, Aaron, Finleigh, Falon, Foster, Crosby, Smith, Broderick, Curtis, Porter, Harper, Joey, Charlie, Haley, Ava, Lauren, Calla, Scarlett, and Violet. She is predeceased by great-grandson Troy McLaughlin and great-granddaughter Emma Lynn Gawel. Dear Ciocia of Bozena Vlahek, Joseph Szymczak, Jolanta Szymczak and Janina Slaby and their families. Mary's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Friday from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes R.C. Church 75 Bluevale St. N. Waterloo, Ontario N2J 3R7 on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
