The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mary Gawel can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: (Email sent to Zenon and Family as were away during funeral. Very sad we missed it.)

Such sad and happy news at same time. Sad to see her go, we will miss her so much. Happy to have had a few great last chats with her.
Happy that she is going to a great place in heaven, god will take care of her as she was an amazing woman and outstanding citizen in the community.
She will be happy to reunite with Walter, Uncle Rich and Jonny. I'm sure she is planting seeds in a garden with Jonny as you read this!

Grandma was saying good bye to us here last night on the island (Sao Miguel, Azores). A mini tornado passed through. Tore the roof off of our beach lookout hut (12x12) Landed 50 ft away next to our rental car. Minor damage. We are all ok. Feel good knowing that it was just grandma passing through, Blowing us a kiss.

Love from all of us.
Tom Heather Crosby Smith.

Condolence: Grandma Gawel always had an opinion and few jokes to tell!

Husband came home to a nice hot bowl of soup on the table, husband says to wife..."Honey, what delicious soup this is, what kind is it? Wife says..."I'm not sure, the label fell off!"

"All that glitters is not gold" meaning that not everything that looks precious or true turns out to be so.

Love Tom.
So glad we shared so many fabulous times. The best grandmother a grandson could ever wish for. Miss you forever.
