January 9, 1942-March 8, 2017
Passed away in her sleep.
Born in Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1963 and was very proud to become a Canadian citizen.
Survived by her children, Martina Ruzicka (Alois), Michele Gollinger, Robert Gollinger, Carolyn Bickers (Scott MacDonald) and Nicole McIlveen (Ron).
Loving Oma to Melanie Peters (Christian), Erinlee Gollinger, Eric Gollinger (Alexis Small), Jessica Bickers, Jared Bickers, Jake McIlveen and Cody McIlveen. New great Oma to Marla. She will be missed by her many family and friends near and afar.
Survived by her sister Elizabeth (late Manfred) Sengera, Hansi (Hedwig) Schwarz and Viktor Schwarz.
Predeceased by her parents Anton and Theresa Schwarz, Brothers Stanislaus (Hedy) Schwarz and Ernst Schwarz.
She loved her children and grandchildren with fierce devotion. She will be missed greatly for her sage advice, friendly demeanour, sense of humour, encouragement, strength and perseverance in the face of adversity. She taught not only her children and grandchildren but others, that giving up is never an option.
Upon Erika's request cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice or your Local Food Bank.
