Wiegand, Larry:
Surrounded by his loving family, Larry passed away on Monday, March 13th, 2017 at the age of 77.
Much loved husband and best friend of 55 years to Nancy Wiegand. Cherished father of Tracey and her husband Doctor Brian Huth. Proud and loving Papa of Vivian Bernice Huth and Hilary Claire Huth. Dear Brother-in-law of Gail Parsons (Sigi Waldner), Mary Anne Silver (Rob Lawrence) and Heather (Rob) Dinsmore. Remembered by his nieces, nephews, the Huth family and his many friends, especially Paul Braun and Cathy McConnell. He will be missed by his Brittany Spaniel, Ginger.
Predeceased by his parents Norman and Bernice Wiegand and his brother-in-law, Doctor Jeff Silver.
He was employed with the City of Kitchener for 31 years. A life long resident of Kitchener, Larry was an avid athlete and volunteer. He played on the K-W Dutchman Football Team, Waterloo Siskins Hockey Team and in his later years enjoyed running, skiing and cycling.
Larry's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Sunday April 2, 2017 from 1pm - 5pm with family tributes held from 1:30pm -2pm. A private interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery will be held at a later date. Private cremation has taken place.
Over the years, Larry coached track and field athletics and worked with special needs children. Therefore, donations in his memory may be made to the Young Athletics Track and Field Club or Pride Stables. (cards available at the funeral home).
