Sandor Szabo passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Lisaard House hospice on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Lise (née Poulin) for 50 years. Loving father of Robert (Catherine Wallace), Steven and Michelle.

Sandor came to Canada in 1956 as a refugee of the Hungarian Revolution and built a wonderful life in this country. Following a Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta, he had many short jobs all over the country, including a memorable stint in Great Bear Lake, NWT. He had a successful career at Uniroyal in Elmira and Guelph as a chemical engineer for over 30 years.

Sandor's family will receive relatives and friends for a memorial visitation from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Memorial services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 1:30 p.m., followed by a reception at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Lisaard House Hospice would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
