Passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, April 28, 2017, at the age of 53. Dear father of Christina Knischewsky (Curtis), Lauren, Michael (Edita), and Aaren (Tommy). Beloved son of Shirley and Robert Gatchene. Dear brother of Scott (Shelly), Robert (May) and Chris. Cherished grandpa to Emerson and Finley. Loving partner of Tina Smart. Dan will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dan was a skilled tradesman and worked as a sheet metal mechanic.

Dan's family will receive relatives and friends from 9 - 10:15 a.m. with prayers be recited at 10:20 a.m.on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467, followed by a procession to St. Teresa of Avila RC Church 44 Leonard St. Kitchener for a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Brendan McGrath officiating. Reception to follow in the parish hall. Private cremation has taken place.
