Obituary for Leona Marie Chomitz (Caskenette)

Leona Marie Chomitz (Caskenette)
Chomitz, Leona M.
May 5, 1925 - May 19, 2017

Leona passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 with family by her side.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived her life with courage, grace and filled with love. Never complaining and always with a smile.

She is survived by her children Nancy Jibb (Wally), David Chomitz (Kathy) and John Chomitz (Gaynor), nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, her sister Lorraine Andrews and her sister-in-law Anita Caskenette. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years Peter Chomitz, brothers Harry, Jerome and Walter Caskenette, sister-in-law Hedy Caskenette and brother-in-law Stan Andrews.

Leona was dedicated to her family and was a master seamstress. Her family were the recipients of many of her skillfully crafted quilts, blankets, ceramic dolls and other family heirloom treasures.

A special thank you is extended from the family to the wonderful PSW's and nursing staff at The Village of Winston Park where Leona and Peter had called home and were welcomed into their family. We are so appreciative of the love, care and respect that they so generously received.

Cremation has taken place with interment by the family to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Donations may be made by contacting the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 519-749-8467 or by visiting www.henrywalser.com for Leona's memorial.
