Passed away at home on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in her 74th year. Beloved wife of the late Don Friess (2005). Loving mother of Donna and David Wismer, Terri and Mark Bauer, Richard and Denise Wright, Stephanie and Wes Brown, David and Deanne Friess, and Linda and Darren Miller. Proud "Gramma" of Chase (Ines), Jordan (Rebecca), Tyler, Matthew, Jonathan, Noah, Alexandra, Ezra, Lucas, Emily (Richard), Elise, Grace, Kate, Matthew and Rachel and great-grandmother of Cohen. Dear sister of Bruce (Pattie Lynne) Hoare, Barrie (Pat) Hoare and the late Charles Hoare. Survived by sister-in-law Mary Hoare. Shirley was a faithful, lifelong member of the New Apostolic Church. Her boundless love and endless energy will be greatly missed by her family.
Shirley's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A Memorial Service will take place at the Cambridge-Hespeler New Apostolic Church, 64 Winston Blvd., on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the church. Private cremation has taken place.
