Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Innisfree House on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the age of 56. Beloved wife of Derek. Loving mother of Keira and Caleb. Daughter of the late William and Celine Phelan. Dear sister of Mike (Cathie) and Bill (Anne Marie). Deirdre will be fondly remembered by her 6 nephews, all of her aunts, uncles, cousins, and her in-laws. Special thanks to friends, family and the staff in the Grand River Hospital Cancer Unit for all of their support.
Deirdre's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2017 and from 12:30-1:15 p.m. on Monday, May 29, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener (519) 749-8467. A Celebration of Deirdre's Life will be held in the chapel on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow at Schwaben Club, 1668 King St. E., Kitchener. Private cremation has taken place.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Innisfree House or the Grand River Hospital Foundation - Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home). Visit www.henrywalser.com for Deirdre's memorial.
