Condolence: In Memory Of Donna Bombardier My sister called me very early from the hospital to tell me she was going to “ruin my day” and I wasn’t to cry but listen to what she had to say because she needed me to help her. She said she only had a few days left and there was things she had to tell people, important things they had to know…. and she needed me to tell them. She said how very short life is and if there was any one thing she had come to know it was how important it is to enjoy a few minutes every day – to stop what you ‘re doing, maybe grab a coffee, look out the window and look at every little thing, appreciate it, marvel at it. When you think you’ve seen everything, go to a different window and look at the same picture from a different angle and be surprised at what you see, what you missed. If you have “your chair”, the place you always sit, change it and sit somewhere else. See how differently things look from someone else’s chair. Donna had a natural clarity and wisdom. She’d learned to move on from mistakes and not play the blame game. Like all of us she wished she could have started earlier at this business of loving and appreciating life to its fullest. She urged people to never give up on their dreams but live them every day, and remember that every dream you realize, every goal reached, every achievement takes a certain amount of compromise. “MY SISTER”: Beautiful, funny, passionate, opinionated, and determined. Loving, caring, strong-willed, and fierce. Generous and somewhat forgiving- depended on your crime as somethings are unforgivable. Things like deceit, cruelty or hurting her loved ones. Never cared much for whiners. No use for stupidity, but an endless supply of compassion. A wonderful, wicked humor and delight in the ridiculous. A believer- a strong believer. A believer of angels, a believer of the impossible. Us being Celtic and all, she had a touch of the second sight. I remember one time seeing a picture and description of the eyes that have the sight and I realized they were Donna’s eyes. I always kind of envied that, but see she did. She said she wished she knew what she was going to come back as so we would recognize her when she came around to bother us. I said I would always know her- how could I not? She was me and I was her. I always pictured us siblings as a big pie cut in six wedges- each one completely delicious on its own, but part of the whole The pain of parting is fierce. The gratefulness I feel knowing Donna is flying free is immeasurable. She was our sister by blood, yours by marriage, yours by choice, Fate brought her to us. She gave us love and enriched our lives with joy and fun. And we did the same for her. Donna was a happy woman- Joe made sure of that. She was not bitter and wasted any time on things she couldn’t change. She fought hard to enjoy every day, every minute that was given her. This recitation is from our Grandmother’s song book. Condolence: My love and condolences go out to Uncle Joe and the family. Aunt Donna's passing comes as such a shock, but I will always remember her bright smile and laughter. She was an incredible person and I will miss her dearly.

Condolence: Donna has always been so warm and welcoming, compassionate and kind. She made everyone feel good. It is no wonder that She was always surrounded by friends and love. She helped me to get to know my brother better and she made everyone better people than they were by sharing her stories and wisdom. We will truly miss our sister-in-law who was more like a sister.
