Passed away peacefully at Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Friday, June 2nd, 2017. James was born in Edinburgh Scotland on October 25, 1925. Beloved husband of the late Jessmina (Jessie) Dalgity (1997). Dear father of Susan Smalley (Dennis) of Jackson Michigan, Isobel Groh (Randy) of Waterloo, and Keith Dalgity (Corinne) of Woodstock. Loving Popeye (grandad) to Adam Burkhart (Jennifer), Ryan Groh (Vickie), Derek Groh, Kelsey Curliss (Steven), Josh Bigras (Jessica), Adam Bigras, Michael Bigras (Amanda), Destiny Medeiros (Joe), and Chrystal Pullin (Jeremy). Great Popeye to 10 great grandchildren, and will be especially missed by Ella, Autumn, and Bennett. He will be remembered by his niece Doreen Fyall (the late Ian) of Belleville and their children, and special family members, Colin Dalgity (Lindsay), sister-in-law Mary Sutherland and their families of Edinburgh Scotland. He is predeceased by his siblings. James retired from Electrohome (Dielcraft) and was a long time resident of Niagara Falls where he and Jessie spent many wonderful days at their trailer. James and Jessie settled in Kitchener from Edinburgh Scotland leaving behind family and friends only to make new ones and enjoy Canada as their new home. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
