Obituary for Kevin Wong
Wong, Kevin
Passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the age of 64. Beloved partner of Monica Jutzi. Predeceased by his first wife Janet Lynn Leslie, his parents and his sister Maria and her husband OF. Survived by his siblings Patrick (Angela), James (Anne) and Anna (Vincent). He will be fondly remembered as ‘Uncle 5’ by nephews Charles (Kam) and son Darren, Edward, Mark (Mary) and daughter Marcia, Kenneth (Sharon) and Thomas (Wade). He will be missed by Michael Jutzi (Brooke) and Leah Jutzi (Hector Li-Chang) and five grandchildren.
Kevin and Janet opened Janet Lynn’s Food Shoppe in 1985. Their hard work and dedication made the restaurant a fixture in the community. Kevin carried on this legacy at JLB – Janet Lynn’s Bistro, which opened in 2012 with his junior partner Nikki Weiler. His passion, generosity and ever present smile will be remembered by his restaurant family and patrons. His love of golf was recently fulfilled with many rounds at Westmount Golf & Country Club with loved ones & friends.
Kevin's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 where a Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Private cremation has taken place.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation Cardiac Care Unit would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
