Carayannis, Giannoula 'Anna':
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at University Gates Long Term Care, Waterloo, on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of Spiros for 53 years. Loving mother of Nina Ziakkas (Gus) of England, Gus Carayannis (Lucy) and Viki Carayannis (Jamie McCormack). Cherished Yiayia of Tony, Michael, and Sophia Ziakkas, and Olivia McCormack. Survived by her brother John Papazotos (Polixeni), her sisters Lambrini Nikolaides (Christo), and Dimitra Kalageis (Maki), and 3 brothers-in-law, and 1 sister-in-law in Greece. She will be fondly remembered by all her family and friends in Canada and Greece.
Anna's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. & 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Trisagion Prayers, Tuesday at 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 527 Bridgeport Road, Kitchener, on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 10 a.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada, or to the Huntington Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
