Passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Grand River Hospital, on July 30, 2017 the age of 76.

Horst is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beate Flint.
Loved by his son Stephen Flint (Caroline) and four daughters, Nancy Hawley (Raymond), Susie Earle (Stephen), Helen Baskin (Daniel) and Connie Dyke (Mark).
Cherished opa of Christopher, Amanda, Christina, Andrew, Richard, Christina, Madison, Bradley, Melissa and Crystal and great-opa of CJ, Heath and Avery.
Predeceased by grandchildren, Curtis and Jasmin.

Horst was born in Germany and left as a young man where he fulfilled his trade as a painter and retired from the Faculty of University of Guelph. Lots of memories were spent in Timmons. Horst has a passion for hunting and fishing and long walks with his best friend, Lucky. Horst was a quiet and simple man, who loved to have Saturday dinners with his family, but most of all his cake.

Horst's family will receive relatives and friends from 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home, immediately following the visitation, at 1:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at Williamsburg Cemetery, following the memorial service.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the KW Humane Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
