Obituary for Frances Delores McLean (O'Connell)

Frances Delores McLean (O'Connell)
McLean, Frances D.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Frances McLean (nee O'Connell), 88, on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Glace Bay on March 27th, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Walsh) O'Connell.
Frances was loved by all who met her. She always put others before herself, had a keen sense of humour and enjoyed singing, ballroom dancing, playing the piano and being with her family. Visitors were always offered a cup of tea with sweets.

She is survived by daughter Catherine Goetze, sons Art (Margie), Gary (Sharon), Ron (Marg), and Ken, sister Sheila Cameron, grandchildren Debbie, Rhonda, Brian, Cheryl, Scott, Carrie, Stephanie and Jennifer, 14 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband Neil, 13 siblings, and great-granddaughter, Brandi.

A visitation is planned for Saturday, August 19th from 2-5 p.m. at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener (519-749-8467). Interment will be held at a later date attended by immediate family at Woodland Cemetery. The family thanks Cathy and Ken for their meticulous care of Frances in her later years. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made in her name to the Waterloo Region Food Bank (cards available at the funeral home).
