Donna Marie Sloat (Finnerty)
Sloat, Donna Marie (nee Finnerty) R.N.
Passed away unexpectedly at St. Mary's Hospital on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of Don for 52 years. Loving mother of Michael Sloat and Karen Lebold (Brad). Proud grandma of Mikayla, Kaia and Ty. Dear sister of the late Marjorie, Florence, Mary and Betty. Loved by her many nieces, nephews and their families.
Donna loved her chosen profession of nursing. After graduating from St Joseph’s of Hamilton, Donna held many distinct positions within her field: with many head nurse positions, working in psychiatry, surgical, medical, and ICU. This extensive nursing career, took her to many places throughout Ontario and the USA. Donna, with Don, was highly involved with Cystic Fibrosis Canada for 44 years as a dedicated volunteer and educator.
Donna most enjoyed times spent at the cottage with family and friends. Visits with her grandchildren were always cherished. Donna always had a wonderful sense of humour which managed to get her through anything.
