Obituary for Nancy Ann Magee (Magee)

Nancy Ann Magee (Magee)
Magee, Nancy Ann (July 8, 1962 - November 2, 2017)
Passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer surrounded by friends, family and her beloved dogs, Harper & Scout. She was predeceased by her parents Wynnell and Donald Magee. Nancy is survived by her three sisters, Barbara Magee Turner (Richard), Janice Jocelyn (Larry) and Susan Madzik (Jozef) and nieces and nephews, Courtney & Andrew Turner, Madi & Brett Jocelyn, Caitlyn & Adrian Madzik. Nancy was born in Winnipeg and spent most of her formative years there. Nancy was a highly accomplished athlete, excelled in badminton, playing at the Winnipeg Winter Club and in the 1970’s successfully represented Canada at the Pan Am Games. She attended the University of British Columbia obtaining a Master’s Degree in History and then settled in Montreal for some years to pursue her career. Nancy was bilingual in Russian and worked for the government for many years. In the early 1990’s she moved to Mississauga and made many dear friends and was happy working in sports retail. She was an avid sports fan (Chelsea!), loved all her fur-babies, read mystery books voraciously, cared deeply for the misfortunate, and had a fantastic sense of humor. Loved dearly and will be missed by many. Many thanks to her special group of friends Beena, Julie, Raylene, Kim R and Kim H. Special thanks to her amazing care givers from Home Care Assistance. As per her wishes she has been cremated and there will be no ceremony. Arrangements entrusted to Henry Walser Funeral Home (519) 749-8467. Expressions of sympathy to the Humane Society or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home). Visit www.henrywalser.com to view Nancy's memorial.
