After a full life Doreen passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Innisfree House in Kitchener at the age of 92.
Doreen was born in London, England on August 25th, 1925. She was the last survivor of her five siblings. She lost her three brothers during WWII and this deeply affected her through her entire life. Two sisters are also predeceased. She lost the love of her life, Gerry Hodgson, on November 22nd , 2015. They had been together for 70 years and her life was not complete without him. She leaves behind two sons and a daughter: Alan and his wife Monika, Marty and his wife Sherry and Julie and her husband Paul Reinhardt. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Robert (Jennifer), James (Jessica), Wes (Kelly), Katie (Rich) and great-grandchildren Carson, Breanna, Carly, Gavin, Carlynn and Wyatt. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law, Grace, and her nieces and nephews in Canada and the UK.
Many thanks to the doctors and staff of 5D North at Grand River Hospital for giving her all of the consideration and care that she well deserved.
Also thank you to the staff and volunteers at Innisfree House for your compassionate care.
At her request, there will be no formal visitation or funeral.
Cremation has taken place.
