It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Vera at Lanark Heights Long Term Care, Kitchener, on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the age of 102.
Dear wife of the late Robert (Bob) Bindernagel. She leaves behind her two daughters, Marilyn Brodrecht (the late Keith Brodrecht) and Carla Bindernagel. Survived by her brother Jack (Kathy) Wolff. She will be fondly remembered by her grandson Mike Brodrecht (Lisa), two great-grandchildren, Tara Gutscher (Kevin), Kris Brodrecht, two great-great-grandchildren Zachary and Alexander Gutscher as well as many nieces and nephews. She will also be fondly remembered by Jean Wiseman and Cheryl Saunders. Predeceased by her sisters Ruby Rathman and Gladys Hergott, and one brother Clarence (Hector) Guenther. Vera volunteered for 21 years at St. Mark's Lutheran Church and several years at Grand River Hospital. She was also an Honorary Member of the Jazz Club. To honour Vera's wishes cremation has taken place with interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau. A special thank you to Lanark Heights Long Term Care for your care of Vera where she resided and made her home.
Vera's family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 where a memorial service will be held in the chapel at 10:30 a.m. A reception to follow at the funeral home. As expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
