Gimbel, Nina:
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Fairview Mennonite Home at the age of 97.
Beloved wife of the late Oren (2001).
Loving mother of Ruby (Dave) Rorke, Ross (Jayne) Gimbel and Kathryn (Bruce) Martin.
Cherished grandmother of Janice Nesbitt, Joel (Janine) Rorke, Larry Scotchmer, Trevor (Donna) Gimbel, Lisa Scotchmer, Tracy McEachern, Darren Martin and Kari Martin and great-grandmother to 14 great-grandchildren.
Survived by sister Pearl Good of Arkansas, brother-in-law Howard Gimbel and sister-in-law Isabel Gimbel.
Predeceased by siblings Elma (Gladwin) Bender, Edward (Olive) Good, Martha Good, Walter (Martha) Good, Mary and Vernon in infancy and in-laws Helen (Urias) Martin, Verda Gimbel, Carol Gimbel, Ruth (Rex) Weber and Ken Gimbel.
She was a longtime member of Preston Mennonite Church and a dedicated volunteer at Fairview Mennonite Home.
Nina was also a member of the Preston Horticultural Society where she won many awards for baking, sewing and gardening.
Nina's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m. on Monday, January 1, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Preston Mennonite Church (791 Concession Rd., Cambridge) from 1-1:45 p.m. A service will take place in the church at 2 p.m.
Reception will follow in the church hall after the service.
A family burial will take place at Hagey Cemetery in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Fairview Mennonite Home or Preston Mennonite Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
