Obituary for Jerome J. Miehm

Miehm, Jerome, J. "Jerry":
Born into eternal life on Tuesday, January 23 at Marian Residence in Cambridge, surrounded by family and friends, in his 94th year.
Beloved husband of the late Theresa (Fuith) Miehm (1998).
Cherished father of Jerry Miehm Jr. and his wife Catherine of New Westminster, B.C.; His Excellency Daniel J. Miehm, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Peterborough; Cathy Miehm and her husband Joe Ulmer of Kitchener; Mike Miehm of Kitchener and his partner Joanne Bradley. Wise and much loved Grandpa to Joey, Julia and Michael Ulmer.
Jerry will be missed by a large circle of devoted nieces, nephews and friends who brought great joy, love and laughter to his later years.
Born in Kitchener (Centreville) in 1924, Jerry was raised in a large and loving family headed by Nelson Miehm and Agnes Rose. He is predeceased by all his siblings: Alta Miehm, Marjorie Bisch, Leonard Miehm, Nelson Miehm Jr., Wilfrid Miehm and Sister Rose Marie Miehm, SSND; as well as his in-laws and great friends, Thomas and Betty Germann of Kitchener.
Jerry spent most of his professional career in building supplies, working for both Beaver Lumber and Kaufman Lumber in Kitchener, before becoming co-owner of Cambridge Home Centre, from which he retired in 1991.
He was the heart, soul and patriarch of his family and will be forever loved. His renowned sense of humour never left him, and was a blessing for us all in his final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate (Marian Residence Program), who made Dad so comfortable in his final years.
