Condolences

Condolence From: Dennis Tschirhart
Condolence: I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Frank Clifford. I first met Frank when he taught me at Stratford Teachers' College in 1963-64. Frank was the kind of educator you would want to model yourself after and over the course of my career I would seek his advice and counsel on educational matters. In the later part of my career we were fellow Catholic Supervisory Officers and I marveled at the esteem Frank commanded. He was extremely thoughtful and I will never forget his kind words expressed to my upon the death of my mother in 1977. Well, done Frank, rest in peace.

Condolence: Please know that we have the Clifford Family in our thoughts and prayers and extend our deepest sympathy to you all. We had the pleasure of sharing time with Frank at Sunnyside while our Mom Marilyn, resided there. He always brought a smile to her face and ours with his kindness, life stories and sense of humour. We know that he is now safely in the arms of God and his wife Mary, whom he missed immensely. Truly, a wonderful person to know. We wish the Clifford Family great peace as you release Frank into Heaven.

Condolence: Dear Gerry and Clifford family. Please accept our sincere sympathy for the loss of your father. Your dad was very instrumental in moulding me as a Catholic leader in my early days as a principal for the W.C.S.B. On a number of occasions in my first years I entered Lourdes School to the familiar smell of pipe tobacco which meant Frank was waiting in my office, relaxing with his feet on my desk. His question was always the same." Tell me what it is like to be a principal in the late 70's." He taught me , To always allow every individual to leave your office with their dignity in tack, a lesson I followed until my retirement. I am a better person for having known your father. Frank and the family will be in my daily prayers.

Condolence: Blake and I were very sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved father and grandpa. We consider ourselves so fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend time with Frank, and also with your special mom and grandma, Mary. They always welcomed us into your family, and your dad certainly reflected his belief that "faith, friends and family" are the most important things in life! God bless.

Condolence From: Very Rev. Paul S. Voisin, C.R.
Condolence: Dear member of the Clifford family, Please accept my sincere sympathy and prayers at the passing of your dear Dad and Grandfather, Frank. It was a pleasure to know Frank, whether it was at the Board Office, at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, or at our Resurrectionist residence in Toronto (during my sabbatical year). I enjoyed many happy times with your extra-ordinary parents. Your Dad made such a significant contribution to Catholic education in Waterloo Region, and touched the lives of so many students, teachers and administrators, and families. God will reward him generously for his discipleship and stewardship of his many gifts. God bless you all, and may our faith in the resurrection of Jesus give you all peace and consolation. Very Rev. Paul S. Voisin, C.R. Superior General Congregation of the Resurrection Rome, Ital.

Condolence: To The Clifford Family. I had the honour and pleasure of meeting Frank on a few occasions during my service as a Police Officer with the Waterloo Regional Police Service. He was a very understanding man and was fair in any dealings that I had with him. Although I did not know Frank as an educator I have many friends who taught in the Waterloo District Catholic School Board and he was well thought of and respected by many many people who he was responsible for. All in all he was a GREAT man and will be missed by those who loved and respected him.

Condolence: My sincere condolences on the passing of Mr. Clifford. I had the privilege of beginning my teaching career with the WCDSB the same year he became Director,1975. Through the years our paths would cross . He was a man of character, dedication and integrity. If he said you had his word on it,you knew it would occur. I later had the privilege of teaching 2 of his grandsons at Monsignor Doyle and always asked the boys about how he and his wife were enjoying retirement. Your family should be so proud of the man he was. They don’t make them like Frank Clifford anymore!!

Condolence: Our sincere condolences to the Clifford family. Frank was a close friend for many years. It was a pleasure to work in education with Frank. He was a leader and universally respected by fellow educators. I will miss our cribbage tournaments- I think I am still ahead by one game. Frank might challenge that last statement. He leaves behind a marvellous legacy. Vic and Cecilia D’Amico and family Ottawa

Condolence: While I only got to enjoy Frank's company for a few months when he and my father were residents of Sunnyside, his charm, warmth and grace were clearly evident. He shared stories about Cathie and we laughed together. He preciously told my family on Nov 11/17 that if he had served in WWII he would have like to have served with my dad. When my dad passed in Dec/17 Frank held my hand and offered heartfelt condolences. In our present world it is hard to find gentle and trustworthy people. But Frank was all that. Comfort can be found that Frank is now with his Lord. My sympathies are offered to his family for their loss.

Condolence: To my many Clifford cousins, Cathie, Frank, Larry, Patty, and Gerry, and their families, I am so very sorry to hear of Uncle Frank's passing. You have indeed lost a very special father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. I have fond memories of Uncle Frank as a very warm, articulate, and caring man, who possessed a keen intellect and great sense of humour! Reading his obituary,I am assured that you are all very proud of what your Dad accomplished in a long and fruitful life, for both his family and as an educator. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Please accept our family's most sincere condolences during this difficult time. With love, John and Paula Galotta and family, Calgary Alberta
