Passed away peacefully at Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee Tasker) for over 58 years. Loving father of Andrew White (predeceased in infancy), Art White (Julie) and Andrea Takahashi (Mark). Proud Grandpa/Papa of Taylor, Madilynn, Mitchell, Miya and Jessica. Predeceased by his brothers Hal and Don. Dear brother-in-law of Ron Tasker. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and their families. Doug was employed as a Marketing/Business Development Manager with Dominion of Canada General Insurance Co. At the age of 16, Doug, his brothers and their father built the family cottage at Lake of Bays. From that time until present he has enjoyed spending summers there sailing, golfing and spending time with family and friends.
Doug's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
