Lehman, John Leo "Jake"
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 8th, 2018 at Grand River Hospital in his 78th year. John is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Phyllis. Loving Dad of Tim Lehman (Melissa), Wendy Jacobs (Mark), Steve Lehman (Sherri) and Debbie Lehman. Proud "Pop" of Jessica (Matt), Tasha, Shelby, Ryan, Mike, Carly, Steven, Ryan (Alex), Ashley (Rob), and Matthew. Great grandfather of Sloane, Levi and baby Melo on the way. Survived by sisters Sandra Dietrich (late Bob) and Diane Denomme (Vince), sisters-in-law Clara Lehman, Barb Lehman and Marlene Hentges (Al), and brothers-in-law Albert Dietrich (Mary) and Edward Dietrich. Also survived by his aunt and godmother Maryann Haehnel. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Predeceased by his parents Rosanna (nee Lauber) and Norman "Tim" Lehman and brothers Norman and Jim Lehman and sister Shirley. Jake was an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling and his annual fishing trips to Englefield Bay, B.C.
Jake's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018 and from 12:30-1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation - Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
