Loree, Marlene Estelle Theresa Catherine Anne
Marlene Loree passed away peacefully at Innisfree House, with her loving family by her side on February 25, 2018. She was born to the late Lorena and Donald Schell on September 1, 1937.
Marlene was a timeless inspirational woman who led a virtuous life full of compassion, hard work, and laughter. She entered and completed nurse's training while raising her children. She was a valued professional in the healthcare field as a Registered Nurse. As a RN, she worked within many types of patient care most of which she spent at St. Mary's General Hospital, then VON and Veteran's Affairs. Marlene and Denny had owned the Drift Inn General Store in Miller Lake. She was a Real Estate agent in the KW area for several years.
Marlene appreciated and adored two things in life, God and her family which she considered to be the greatest gift. She was like a second mother to her younger brothers: Donald (Helen), Gary (Marie), Wayne (Connie), Dale, and predeceased brother Dennis (Donna). She married her first true love Dennis Loree on May 26, 1956. They were blessed with three children: Michael (Wendy), Todd (Kathy), and Lisa (Daryl). She was immensely proud of her Grandchildren: Matthew (Colleen), Bradley, Adrian (Karyn), Stephanie (Morgan), Amanda, Shaylene (Ryan), Cooper, and Sierra. She loved her great-grandchildren: Jane, Vaughn, Mabel, and Oaklen. She is survived by her brother-in-law Doug, and predeceased by her in-laws: Ira (Rose), Pat (Ron), Shirley, and George (Shirley). She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Marlene's family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 and from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi RC Church 49 Blueridge Avenue Kitchener, ON N2M 4E2 on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Reception at the Church Hall to follow.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Innisfree House or the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. If you wish to send flowers the family requests there to be no lilies.
