Tranter, John Herbert:
Peacefully after a brief illness on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Hospital, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Sharon (nee Ball). Loving father of Paul (Annabell), Pamela Braun (Steve), Tiffaney (Keith), and Matthew. Much loved grandfather of seven grandchildren. Dear brother of Barbara Azzopardi (Thomas), Patricia May (Richard) and predeceased by his brother Robert. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends. John lived a life of public service, serving as a police officer in Barrie and Toronto and retired as a Detective after 37 years. He was a licensed lay reader with the Anglican Church and a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 258. He attended Gregory Drive Alliance Church in Chatham.
John's family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 where a memorial service will be held in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Transition to Betterness would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
