The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Kenneth Motts can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Ann Pallister
Condolence: My condolences to the family. Ken was a very kind man to my father and I when I was younger. I lived at Bon Accord with my father and have fond memories of Ken. I have thought of him often since then as he was like family to us. You will be missed Ken. Ann Pallister

Condolence From: Sylvia and Ray Dugan
Condolence: We were both very saddened by the loss of Ken to his family and particularly to Joyce. He was well known as a caring community worker and volunteer, and Ray remembers what an asset he was to the Philharmonic Choir. Our sincere sympathy goes to you all.

Condolence: Ken has been a patron of our shop, All Things Tea, for as long as our doors have been open. There is something that happens over time, where the lines between "customer" and "friend" become blurred. Ken and Joyce are friends. George and I will always have fond memories of the conversations we've had over the years, and Ken always had something to teach. Very worldly, always bringing a new perspective to consider. Thank you, Ken for sharing with us; you will be missed. Thinking of you, Joyce, and of your whole family. George and Susie.

Condolence: I find myself mourning Ken constantly. He seemed to always be the prodding force in trying to force the establishment, particularly government, to carry out in particular ways promises which have been generally made. Kitchener House was a shining example. Then, there was Kitchener Alliance. I worked with Ken, often, with many projects. It was always Ken, however, who was the driving force.

I remember many, many happy occasions at Ken and Joyce's. They were always so welcoming to their beautiful home. There were choir parties; there were dinner invitations. I know, as well, how beloved Joyce has been to her many former students, including my stepdaughter. I know how diligent both of them have been as choir members and right now, at this moment, I can hear Ken's joyous, tenor voice.
