Born May 30, 1938 to Gordon and Armandine Leon, Ginny died peacefully on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in her 79th year. Beloved wife of Graeme for 53 years. Loving mother of Gord (Mary Jo) and Chris. Proud Nan of Avery and Michael. Dear sister of Celia and Sue. Retired special education teacher, intrepid traveler, active volunteer, and avid Stratford Theatre supporter. Ginny along with Graeme were founding members and devout parishioners of St. Mark Catholic Church. The family wishes to thank Diane, Lasha and the team at Care Partners, as well as the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre for the fantastic care they provided.
Ginny's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener. Prayers 8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Mass at St. Mark Catholic Church, 55 Driftwood Drive, Kitchener, on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the church hall.Private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre (Cheques payable to Grand River Hospital Foundation) or Canadian Food for Children (cards available at the funeral home).
