Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at St. Mary's Hospital on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the age of 91. Predeceased by her husband Walter (2008). Loving mother of Linda Gilmore (Bryan) of Wasaga Beach, Carol Long (Ken) of Waterloo, Janet Schumacher (Mark) of Waterloo and Gary Borys (Pam) of Waterloo. Cherished grandmother of Tamara Vidler (Rob), Todd Gilmore (Tania), Tracy Patterson (Glenn), Michael Long (Kathy), Steven, Andrew and Ryan Schumacher, Joshua and Matthew Borys. Treasured Great Grandmother of Veylyn, Desiree, Alexton, Elysee, Jaxon, Luke, Nolan and Easton. Dear sister of Marie Kraemer (Walkerton), and sister-in-law of Betty Borys, Helen Bastian and Yvonne Bastian. Predeceased by her brothers Jerome and Wilfred Bastian, sister-in-law Wanda Kalbfleisch and brothers-in-law Stan Borys, Ken Kraemer and Norm Kalbfleisch. Alma will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends.
Alma's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 and from 12-12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, (519) 749-8467. Memorial Service in the Chapel on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Inurnment Parkview Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. Special thank you to all the staff at Bankside Retirement Home.
