Cidade, Joe
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Joe M. Cidade after a 3 year battle with cancer, at the age of 56. He will be greatly missed by his wife Alice (Barbosa), their sons, Adam, Mark (Karyn), and David (Katy). Joe leaves great memories with his grandchildren, Lilly, Hunter and Sofia. Survived by his parents Maria de Graca and Jose, his siblings Grace (Domingos), Helen (Abby), Danny (Anna) and Dennis. Joe will be remembered by his mother-in-law Maria do Santos Barbosa and his in laws Adelina, Roger, Aida (Dave) and Carlos. Uncle Joey will be missed by many nieces and nephews not only those related by blood but by others who respectively called him 'uncle'. Special thanks to the 6th floor nursing staff at Grand River Hospital for their dedicated care. Joe's family will receive relatives and friends from 3-5 and 7-9 pm on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener (519-749-8467). A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi RC Church, 49 Blueridge Avenue, Kitchener, on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11:00 am. Interment Williamsburg Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Grand River Hospital Foundation - Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family. (cards available at the funeral home).
