WOLFE, Helen
Surrounded by the love of her family, Helen passed away on Saturday, February 4th, 2017 at the Chartwell Westmount Long Term Care Residence at the age of 91.
Loving mother of John (Linda) Mackay, Wendy (Gary) Stemmler, Deborah Lusty (Mark Smuck), Judy Way (late Eric), Cindy (Vince) Tokarcyzk, Lisa (Jordan) Lucas, and Linda (Jamie) Inglis. Grandma Helen will always be remembered by Chris Beechey, Marcie Sleegers, Joel Mackay, Jeremy Tokarcyzk, Carrie Reid, Kate Stemmler, Geoff Way, Victoria Lucas, Josh Inglis, Cailey Way, Hilary Lucas, Spencer Inglis and Dawson Inglis. Missed by all her great granchildren.
Predeceased by her husbands Jack Mackay (1945), Earl Simpson (1992) and George Wolfe (2007), her parents Richard and Jean Rose, her brothers Archie and Richard Rose and her sisters Marguerite Rose and Betty Keen and sisters- in- laws Elsie Rose and Margaret Rose. Survived by her brother-in-law Stuart Keen and sister-in-law Peggy Rose as well as many nieces and nephews.
Helen’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the Westmount LTC for the kindness, interest and excellent care given to Helen. However, a special thank-you to Jenn, Sonja, Shirley, Lisa, Laurie and Dan. We will never forget your many caring acts.
Helen was a woman of substance whose indomitable spirit helped her to weather many storms throughout her life. She dedicated herself to her family and modelled the importance of hard work, high expectations, dedication and strong values. She had learned these values herself growing up and working on the family farm in a small rural community outside of London, Ontario. After staying at home for many years to raise her family she returned to the work force and very successfully worked for Sears Canada in sales, and management for 22 years. She retired in 1988 and this allowed her to once again spend time creating beautiful gardens, cooking, baking, hosting family gatherings and enjoying the birds and wildlife her country property afforded. Her legacy is already evident within the family as we carry on with many of these same interests, traditions and values.
Following Helen's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
