Obituary for Pete McKinnon

Pete McKinnon
McKinnon, John Peter "Pete":
It is with a heavy and sad heart that I announce the passing of my sweet, kind and wonderful husband Pete. The world was a much better place when he arrived on September 18, 1955. On June 12, 2017, he left us but his smile, joy and big heart will remain.
Pete is survived by his devoted wife, Angie who loved him more than words can say and will miss him until we find one another again; his two wonderful children who he adored, Amanda and P.J.; his loving and amazing parents Barb and Jack; his cherished sister Angela and brother-in-law Paul; brothers-in-law Dean (Anita) and Carl (Ester); parents-in-law Wanda and Charlie; nieces and nephews Carson (Mallory), Paul (Delayne), Kayla (Bryce), Conner (Thomas) and Kyla (Matt); his aunts, uncles and cousins; good friend Mike Black; his "adopted" family, Bev and Paul Bezpaly; his sidekick and walking buddy Harley.
Predeceased by his brother Paul.
A special thank you to all of the great care, kindness, and dignity he received in the ICU at Grand River Hospital. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. MacKinnon and Katherine (a.k.a the pitbull as we called her) for their genuine care, honesty and compassion they gave Pete and all of us over the last days before his passing.
For visiting or services, PLEASE wear flip flops or motorcycle boots to honour Pete.
Pete's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and Friday from 9-9:45 a.m. A celebration of Pete's life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. A light reception will follow. Pete will be interred at a later date in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society or Lisaard House (Hospice) would be appreciated.
