Is it a plant or a weed?

The first time I met Rick was shortly after we moved to Goundry Cres....the previous owners of our house had planted lots of thngs, but I was no gardner  Across the street there was someone who knew LOTS about gardending!  I asked Jacquline if she could help me figure out the garden ,and she was quick to tell me it was her hubby Rick, who was the real gardender behind thier lovely home.  Rick was so gracious and patient going through the garden and explaining to me what all was what and how to maintain a garden pretty hassle free...apparently I was to learn about mulch!  A few days later I came home and Rick had his trailer full of mulch pulled up to my house and was distributing the mulch making my garden look amazing     There are many flowers and plants there that strated from his lovely plants....this was the begginging of a wonderful friendship with both Rick and Jacquline.  That was Rick..always willing to help out.  We will miss you very much my friend.
